Grandma Buza's Childhood Memories

We copied "Our Grocery Store" from Grandma Buza's journal that she kept while she was in the nursing home during the early 2000's.

She also wrote:
Our bread was almost always home made and how good it tasted when we came home from school and Mom had a whole bunch laying on the table, covered, still warm and we had some before we started our daily chores. Mom also made such good pies, cakes biscuits, Johnny cakes or as many call it corn bread. And in season we loved our strawberry short cake made from wild strawberries which we picked.

  1. Grandma had a nice way of putting her thoughts on paper. Here is an example, also from her journal:

    Love. . .

Love is a very powerful thing, It can make us laugh and make us sing.
It makes us work for daily bread or sit all night by a sick one's bed.
The love of a parent will guide a son from a tiny babe to life is done.
Love will travel a long, long way to bring back a loved one who has gone astray.
For love can cheer and love can bless; It will give comfort and it will give rest.
It will give peace that passes time. It is Heavenly, it is sublime.
God is Love as we all should know because the Bible, it tells us so.
And if to the Bible we would heed, God will bless all our days. He will indeed.
